Meet Bo Johnson

It has often been said, "There is no substitute for experience." When it comes to helping people make important financial decisions, I believe that statement has never been truer.

For more than 40 years, I have helped clients throughout Georgia navigate the ever-changing world of investing and retirement planning. Over the years, I've helped clients navigate some of the most challenging periods in market history, including the 1987 market crash, the technology bubble of the early 2000s, and the financial crisis of 2008. Those experiences have reinforced the value of disciplined planning, sound investment principles, and a long-term perspective.

Today, I focus on helping individuals and couples who are approaching retirement—or already retired—develop strategies for retirement income, investment management, and greater financial confidence and clarity.

Albany has been my home since 1965. I graduated from Deerfield High School in 1976, where I was active in athletics and was later inducted into the Deerfield-Windsor Athletic Hall of Fame. After earning my bachelor's degree in Business Management from Presbyterian College, I completed First State Bank & Trust's management training program before joining Merrill Lynch as a Financial Advisor in 1986.

After 17 years with Merrill Lynch, I founded Artesian Financial Group in 2002 to provide clients with the personalized service and independent advice they deserve.

For seventeen years, wearing a suit and tie every day was simply part of the job. Today, I enjoy a much more relaxed environment where the focus isn't on appearances—it's on building relationships and helping clients make wise financial decisions. While my wardrobe has become more casual, my commitment to my clients has never changed.

Outside the office, I'm married to my wife, Pam. We make our home on the beautiful Muckalee Creek in southwest Georgia. Pam grew up on her family's farm in nearby Bronwood. Together, we enjoy kayaking, gardening, cooking, and simply spending time together.

Helping clients enjoy a confident retirement has been the most rewarding part of my career. I consider it a privilege to serve the families who place their trust in me, and I look forward to helping many more in the years ahead. That's the inspiration behind the name Artesian Financial—my belief that retirement income should be as dependable and consistent as the steady flow of water from an artesian well.
